Which Strategy is Best?
Even with a good strategy, the odds are in the house's favor. But this begs the question,
what strategy gives the player the best odds? The “By the Book” strategy card
to the right (available in most casino gift shops) is popular, but not very effective.
A Comparison:
Let's compare “By the Book” to the “Bust the House” strategy. To do
so, we'll use a blackjack table simulator computer program. Simulating a large sample of blackjack hands
produces relatively consistent results. For this comparison, each hand starts at a $10 bet,
running 20 million hands, the simulator gives these
(approx.) results:
